Mirror the contract exactly
A roofing final invoice is checked more carefully than almost any document in home services, because it is a large number arriving at the end of a disruptive week.
Use the same line names and the same figures as the signed contract. Where something changed, show it as its own line with the date it was approved:

A customer who can reconcile the invoice against the contract in thirty seconds pays it. One who cannot, phones.
Always credit the deposit visibly
The most common roofing payment dispute is not about the total — it is a customer who believes their deposit has not been counted. Put it on the invoice as a credited line with the date it was paid.
Invoice after the clean-up
Do the final magnetic sweep, clear the gutters of debris, walk the property with the customer, and then invoice. An invoice that arrives while there are still nails in the driveway invites a deduction, and a fair one.
Insurance work is different
If the job is an insurance claim, the invoice needs to match the approved scope and any supplements, and reference the claim number. None of the general tools below manage supplements — that is genuinely what AccuLynx and JobNimbus exist for.

Questions operators actually ask
What should a roofing invoice include?
Business and licence details, customer and property address, the roof area in squares, itemised material and labour, any approved decking replacement with sheet count, disposal, tax, total and the payment already received. Showing the deposit credited is what stops the most common roofing payment dispute.
Should the invoice mirror the contract?
Line for line, yes. Any difference should appear as an approved change order with the date it was agreed. An invoice that does not visibly match the signed contract is the single most common reason a final roofing payment gets withheld.
How do I invoice decking replacement?
As its own line with the sheet count and the per-sheet rate from the contract, referencing the customer's approval. If you photographed it — and you should have — say the photographs are available. That combination is very rarely challenged.
When should the final invoice go out?
On completion, after the final clean-up and magnetic nail sweep, and ideally after you have walked it with the customer. Invoicing before the site is clean invites a deduction request.
What about insurance jobs?
Invoice matching the approved scope and supplements, referencing the claim number. Insurance work has its own documentation rhythm and none of the general tools here handle supplements — that is what roofing-specific platforms exist for.
